Ponterwyd Country Fete 2007Welcome to the 2007 Ponterwyd Country Fete.
Claire having the ride of her life!!
This was the third running of the Ponterwyd Country Fete and it was the biggest and best yet.
Attractions this year included a vintage fairground organ, a Rodeo Sheep, vintage garden and horticultural equipment, racing 4x4 display, classic cars and motorbikes, various stalls and competitions, plate smashing and displays and sales by Ponterwyd & District Art Club and Ponterwyd Garden Club. There was also a fancy Dress competition and Fete Queen and attendant, Thanks to the generosity of Cefn Croes Wind Farm Community Trust Fund who provided the Fete with a 40' x 20' marquee and trestle tables we were able to expand the produce and craft sections at this years Fete. A list of the classes is shown below together with winners. A special thanks to the sponsors who provided cups for the winners and sponsors of the Schedule.

BARN DANCE & HOG ROAST
Following the Fete there was a Hog Roast and Barn Dance which was held at short notice this year at the George Borrow Hotel. Our thanks go to Rob, Karen & Claire for allowing us to use their facilities and licence. The event was a great success despite the weather which didn't dampen spirits too much. The various marquees and tents were spread around the lawns of the Hotel and our very own local Ponterwyd group Mr Beat (50 % anyway) played during the evening. Colin on guitar and Pete on drums were fabulous. They were accompanied by John Jones and his 2Js Roadshow.
